Maybe you can assign tags to trees and trees in other mods and that you can chop down those trees but preventing others from chopping down wooden homes. Or just make it so the axe only does that feature and not your hand.

Yeah, tree detection isn't a perfect science.

You can accomplish this already by using the rightToolRequired config option
